"Room a little below street level, never specified in the description. Completely unacceptable at this price point. Impossible to open any windows because of people walking on the street and seeing everything inside the room. We would have never chosen this hotel and room knowing that as there was many other hotel options with a view and cheaper. Be prepared to close all blinds in the room to get any intimacy, feels like leaving in a cave. Hotel personnel was not helpful at all. Extremely disappointed."

"I booked this hotel as a surprise for my husbands birthday and chose it because it had a gym and swimming pool. We made aware when we checked in that the gym was closed for maintenance. There was nothing about this on the website when I booked. It was supposed to open during our stay, but it didn’t. Very disappointing. The rooms were quite big but surprised that we had to pay 4euros for a bottle of water! There was a lot of choice at breakfast but the cooked items under lights were cold. You could have freshly cooked eggs which was quite nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t say it was 5 star - 4 star at the most."

"The hotel has a great location but there are things they could improve that would make the experience better. The mattress was hard and the pillows soft, I could feel the springs. The room is clean but on the smaller side. There is no complimentary milk or water in the room. And charging $1 storage fee per suitcase makes no sense. "

"A unique concept and in a great location. The room is minimalist, the bed comfortable and has exactly what is needed. The bathroom is modern and very clean. Great water pressure! I didn't miss a TV, closet, dresser, blah blah blah for only 2 nights. The lounge and eating areas are beautiful and comfortable if one wants to sit in a chair with a table. Great value and cool, boutique vibe. I'll be making the ZeroBox hotel group my first choice for stays in Portugal."
