"Great old English inn. Very friendly staff, good food and beers. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent."

"Staff were lovely unfortunately everything else wasn’t. Very noisy with the aircon or whatever it was outside the window. The shower door was hard to open and close. Needed a good clean in the room. Was very expensive for what it was. Pillows were awful. Won’t be going back."

"My wife and I stayed here for one night 20-8-26, the place is really easy to find, located in a village out in the countryside a few miles from Carlisle. Everything about the place is great, the food, the beer, the location and car parking. Best of all are the staff, really friendly and helpful. "This property is advertised as a hotel and bistro which I would take issue with. There is a hotel and bistro sign outside but it is not a hotel and really serviced rooms and should advertised as such. Each room has a separate key lock box to check in. We were not provided with any code and had to depend on the pub next door which appears to have nothing to do with the property. They provided telephone number for the owner who apologised and advised that she had forwarded this information to...

"Recently refurbished, rooms were clean and fresh and kept the original features of the property. Bathroom was lovely and bath a great size although did miss the option of grabbing a quick shower. Bathroom needs a blind or curtain please otherwise stunning room."

"Don’t bring a cat - there’s no room to swing it in the bedroom. And the TV was comically small. That being said, it was clean and tidy and the food excellent. Staff also very friendly."
