"The property is extremely old and needs a proper renovation in my opinion - carpet is dirty with some stains, the bathroom tub has visible mold, and there was a constant water dripping noise from the toilet all night. Windows are damaged with broken glass and could not be securely locked, which we felt unsafe. Heating didn’t work properly, making it freezing in the morning. "The host was very amenable. The property was very clean, breakfast had a great choice of continental options and it was nice and warm for our 2 day stay. Parking was at the rear. "

"The Doubletree hotel is clean and comfortable, with convenient nearby parking (though no preferential rate). Its central location in Bath makes sightseeing easy. The staff are helpful and friendly, and check-in is straightforward. Breakfast offers good options. Family rooms only offer a king-size bed and a sofa bed, which isn’t ideal for teens of different sexes—it would be better if two single beds were available."

"We were given a full tour of the boat we had reserved with instructions on how to start the engine to make hot water, starting the furnace, etc. but the number of beds had unexpectedly changed (Cru Houseboats was under new ownership since we booked our stay) and the requirements for operating the boat did not appeal to us so we did not stay there. The staff were extremely helpful in finding a hotel late in the day that was close by. "

"Weekend break to visit Xmas market. Peter & Margarita made us feel very welcome and very helpful especially with the area and local attractions. Location of hotel was perfect for central Bath. View from our room was lovely as we could see the Abbey all lit up for Christmas. Only negative was the bed was a bit hard, maybe a mattress topper would make a difference. Breakfast was ideal, and Peter & Margarita would do anything for you. Fantastic weekend at the Elgin Villa, would highly recommend."
