"Property is sprawling and unwieldy. Couldn't find the main office for 10 minutes (went to 2 other buildings). Check-in - 4 people at the desk, but only 1 actually checking people in. Lower floor of "villa" smelled funny. Mildewy smell in tub. "Market" is actually a tiny area with some cold drinks, candy and "breakfast" - which is microwaved eggs and pancakes served by unhappy people. Coffee was instant and priced at $3.25 a cup. Pool area was chaotic and unsupervised. Roving bands of teenagers....

"The Yankee Inn was a convenient and affordable option for our visit to Tanglewood. The check-in staff was friendly and advised us of breakfast and checkout hours. The room was clean and thankfully well air conditioned during our stay there in 90 degree weather! The included breakfast was typical fare: eggs, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread/pastries, etc. As we were there for only one night, we did not take advantage of the outdoor pool or fire pit, but both appeared to be clean and well...

"Stayed two nights. Killed 2 milipedes, 1 centipede, some kind of bug that might have been a silverfish, and a bee in the bedroom/room without ever having opened a window. We stayed over a very busy 250th July 4th weekend so I didn't bother making a complaint because I'm sure if there was another room available it would not be any better, otherwise they would have put us there to begin with. They list the hotel as a resort so you pay an extra fee each night, but you gather the trash from the room...

"Staff was great"

"On arrival, we walked into what appeared to be someone’s very messy home. Slight smell of cigarette smoke, coats everywhere and a kitchen full of unwashed dishes, food left on the counters, and a man sitting at the kitchen table with his shirt off. Walking up to the “office” entrance from parking, we walked past an outdoor table with a meat slicing machine wrapped in plastic. We nearly didn’t stay, but needed a bed and the room seemed the cleanest part of the house and good enough for a night....

"A comfortable, lovely stay in a picturesque part of rural Connecticut. They served a delicious breakfast in a beautifully appointed dining room in the historic main house. A thoroughly delightful experience."
