"What a lovely place. The reception staff were welcoming and professional, and the facilities were excellent. It was quite busy during the day because of half term, but by the evening things became much calmer and we were able to enjoy everything properly. The room itself was lovely. There were a couple of minor issues, as the previous guests had left rubbish behind on the lamp, and we noticed some silverfish in the bathroom. Neither issue had a major impact on our stay though. "The spa is the only thing that saves this hotel as without it it would be a very poor hotel. Rooms are very dated, our bed was like a camp bed very uncomfortable. Breakfast in Sage took an hour to be served and it wasn’t even busy. Give staying guests at least the option to go get yoghurt and pastries etc. while they wait for the breakfast cooked meal, having to wait for everything to be served is really old hat these days.
