The hotel was very nice you can tell it has just been refurbished. My only small criticism would be the breakfast (not the price which is very reasonable) just the quality of the sausage.

Disappointing stay
Allison was very friendly and helpful. The common areas were clean and well presented but our room was disappointing. It was a small room with tired decor. The bathroom was very small with a noisy macerator toilet and a poor shower. The bed was comfortable though.

A little gem by the sea
I thoroughly recommend to stay in the hotel. Close to the sea, walking distance from the town centre and idea for walks along the promenade!

Bad smell in the bathroom which I told the owner about. Poor response, I will never stay here again- sorry but I was trying to help them by explaining. Just disregarded. Apparently the hubby is an expert in all things microbiological. I’d left the fan on for hours and the smell did not go. Had a sore throat the next day.

Very welcoming and homey with a beautiful view of the sea. Staff was very helpful when we needed a change and was able to accommodate us longer. The full Scottish breakfast in the dining room was delicious . The perfect peaceful lovely stay !

町の中心地からは少し距離があります。バスルームは専用でしたが、寝室とは別の部屋でしたので、入浴やトイレの度に鍵を持って部屋を出ていかなければならず、少し不便でした。また、シャワーのお湯が入浴の途中で止まってしまい、水で洗髪や体を洗う羽目になり、とても寒かったです。夏ではありましたが、海からの風で部屋がとても寒く、入浴後はもっと体が冷えてしまいました。朝ごはんは1階の食堂でフルブレックファーストを頂くことが出来ました。部屋からの景色は素晴らしかったです。

Dissappinted. Chose this place from the reviews, which seem to overexagerate significantly. There has been a recent change of ownership ....perhaps reviews have assisted.???? Actually in a village called Spittal, not Berwick. No local facilities or amenities. Local publican kindly allowed us to order a take away and have it delivered to eat in his pub. Proprietors live off site, up to guests to lock up front and back doors. Feels like a bedsit not a b and b. Host was cheerful and pleasant but rushed away after we arrived. Breakfast adequate and what would usually be provided. Some unusual reviews on reflection.

Goed verzorgd, gastvrij en erg schoon.
De kamers zijn onberispelijk, het personeel en nieuwe eigenaren Allison en Graham zijn erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het ontbijt was een prima English breakfast met voldoende keuze. Koffie was goed! Wij gebruikten de locatie als uitvalsbasis naar Holy Island en de Northumbrian coastline. Het strand waaraan dit hotel ligt - Spittal beach - is niet echt bijzonder. De stad zelf is historisch prachtig met zijn bruggen en stadsmuur.

The property is located on the seafront - a lovely beach. It is a short walk away from Berwick-upon-Tweed which has some good eating places. The surrounding area is very picturesque.

right on the seafront. very friendly and helpful staff. Our bedroom had a lovely sea view and overlooked the promenade. the owners have only been here for a few months and are intending to make a number of improvements, eg more en suite bathrooms. the breakfast was generous, prompt and well cooked.

Lovely Roxburgh Hotel
We had a very pleasant stay at the Roxburgh, very nice,helpful staff and management : couldn't do enough make our stay enjoyable. Sea view over Spittal beach from our room was a delight. Breakfast was a full English with extras. This is a great place to stay to explore Northumberland, and Edinburgh :Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle etc. It was worth traveling the 680miles to visit and stay at the Roxburgh

Relaxation
Going to start by saying that the owners have just taken on a new adventure and good luck to them too. They where very friendly and gave lots of advice. Breakfast was spot on too. Rooms nice and clean bathroom clean not bad showers. The view was just right for us too, sea view and relaxing too it was. About 30 min walk into town but again on the coast and relaxing. Looking forward to going back and seeing what changes they have made.

Lovely stay!
Room was spacious with a lovely sea view. Bed was comfy and room well equiped. Breakfast was very nice with cereals, cooked breakfast, toast tea/ coffee and orange juice and fruit all on offer. Breakfast is between 8-9am. Situated right on Spittal beach which is a nice walk and not too far to walk into Berwick town ( about 25mins)

Excellent stay
Myself and my family stayed at The Roxburgh for 4 nights. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The hosts were fantastic and friendly. The cooked breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day! I would not hesitate to recommend The Roxburgh to anyone visiting Northumberland.

Spittal Beach
Friendly Hosts, Really clean and comfortable bg bed. Breakfast good, LOTS of tea, coffee etc. For me the room was a bit old fashioned and could di with updating. furniture mismatched and fake plants are a no no from me. Would i stay here again ? in a heartbeat and the view of the sea from my window was just GREAT i want to move in and see that view every day 😀😀😀. Couldn't get friendlier people.

Roxburgh - restful and rewarding
The Roxburgh was a great place to spend a few days. We had a friendly greeting, good size room with amenities and really good fresh breakfast each day. It’s a gem of a place and I’d recommend it to couples and families.

Comfortable and friendly guest house
Although the decor is a little dated it is in good condition and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and contained everything we needed. We were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped through the door, the hosts are warm and friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is excellent, freshly cooked to order, good quality and good portions. Location is decent, 5 mins drive from Berwick for restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
