"Wife and I are in our 60's and son in his 30's. We are from West Virginia and stayed the first week of May, Saturday to Saturday. We had a double queen room with balcony and Oceanfront view. Sure, you pay a bit more for the balcony and view, but it is worth every penny. The hotel is right by the pier, and many restaurants within EASY walking distance. We always took the 5 or 6 minute walks to and from supper rather than driving. Room was quiet and comfortable and staff super-helpful. Breakfast is typical hotel fare, and perfectly adequate. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning rather than going out. The well-used beach access is right outside the back gate. A swim in the ocean was a treat. The pool could be a bit bigger, but my son and I went for dips several times. Two minor points for improvement, but not deal breakers : 1) The shower water could be a bit hotter 2). Parking is plentiful and lots under cover, but costs an extra $12 per day. If we went to Jacksonville beach for a vacation again we would not even research other hotels, but would stay here again.....Oceanfront with balcony."
