"Clean and quiet, very comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even when I’d asked about a bowling club in Modbury that a family member used, the lovely bar staff said she’d find out for me. "After a full day of walking what a treat the Station House was! Beautifully decorated room, comfortable bed, lots of hot water, the use of the common room, a informative book about the property and local suggestions as well as a cafe of delicious food."

"Checked out on arrival as the room had no air conditioning and the temperature of the room was at least 45 degrees, we were offered a fan but this would not have helped. The room was also really small, with an unpleasant smell but it was nicely furnished.Requested another room as apparently some rooms do have a.c. (The hallway leading to the room was a pleasant temperature) we were told they were fully booked (although Trivago showed 3 rooms available when we looked for somewhere else)...

It felt like an institution - a key card to get through a barred gate, then again to enter the building, once more to enter the floor and finally a fourth time to enter the room. "Went for wedding, was astonished at the route from hotel foyer to venue, especially with so many people attending. Found dining room food uninspired and breakfast cool even early."

"If a town has a Moxy then that's where I will stay. They are so cool and like all of them, this one has a lovely big bar and seating area in the foyer. The rooms are great and everything works. And the staff all seem to love their work and are helpful and friendly. Top class."

"The pub is in a fabulous position, the room we had was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Where it fell down was at dinner. I was there with my wife for our 56th wedding anniversary and was hoping for an excellent experience but the service was poor, I had to go up to the bar and ask for a menu after waiting for some time. Again I had to ask for someone to take our order, my second drink was waiting on the bar and I had to retrieve it myself. When food eventually arrived (rack of ribs)...

"Disappointing stay at this hotel. The staff were a little unwelcoming and the service was not great. A beautiful location but this was let down by terrible parking, poor facilities and attention to detail that wasn’t there!!!! The spa was poor with an outlook to a wall!! The room was also disappointing with hair on my pillow and uncomfortable cheap pillows. I was very much looking forward to this stay but was very disappointed."

"Loved the fact my partner and I had a double bed each in the same room. We need single beds but to find the room had 2 doubles giving us a fabulous sleep was a bonus. We were visiting friends so cannot comment on other aspects of the hotel as out for most of the time. Great position, walking to the Barbican was easy too."
