Finally settled down in the new room only for the fire alarm to go off at 2am. I’m sure my experience would’ve been fine had it not been for those problems"

"Food poisoning the first night, rooms hotter than the sun, zero water pressure in the bathrooms. Constantly chasing staff for the most simple things. They ran out of ice. No fans for the rooms. No one collecting glasses or emptying an ash tray. Asked for a coffee in the morning and waited 15 minutes.. got up to ask where it was "oh i couldn't find you" yeah because you were in the kitchen flirting with the chef.. "I arrived with my 8 year old for a 2 night stay during a very hot heatwave. Upon checking in I proceeded to attempt to use the little elevator which got stuck between floors with me inside so I went back down and carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs. I immediately noticed how stifling hot the room was and saw the thermostat had a spanner symbol on. I had to call down 2x to get assistance which came in the form of a small fan. "Breakfast was good. A reasonable choice of cereals, juices, cold buffet and cooked options. Carpets were tired and seen better decades. TV balanced on old piece of furniture. Bolt it to the wall. Make the room bigger by getting rid of the unnecessary cabinet. 3 chairs in the room. But only a 2 person room. Clutter. "Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. "The total has good amenities and a good gym. The food was ok. The hotel was let down by poor and inconsistent service. We were told that tables in the restaurant could not be booked in advance as that evening England were playing. This was confirmed by the person on reception, only to find that nearly all the tables has indeed been reserved when we went down to the restaurant with some of them standing empty for hours until the football started.
