This meant that we slept with the windows open, and it was very noisy outside - a combination of neighbours in the evening, workers in the buildings below our windows and in the morning, seagulls at dawn. Found the room to be very hot with four of us in it and only two small fans"

"We stayed at this property for two nights prior to embarking on a cruise ship outboundfrom Portsmouth Harbor. The hotel is a short walk from the Portsmouth train terminal. It is located in the Gunwharf Quay development which is a huge shopping mall and entertainment venue with many restaurants. It is an easy walk to the Museum of the Royal Navy and a bit longer walk into the core of old Portsmouth. The hotel was pleasant but beginning to show wear. "The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight.
It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. My room had comfortable beds and a newly fitted bathroom but the windows could only be opened a small way as they were blocked by a fire escape staircase immediately outside. The air conditioning unit had seen better days but there was also a fan.

"Lovely Hotel , very clean and fab room but could of done with a bigger room with our Grandson.!
Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
A tiny fridge would be helpful in the room but over all we had a lovely stay at the Birdham. What a lovely part of the Island Bembridge is, in my opinion the nicest exception apart from the Needles. Bembridge has lovely quiet beaches to visit and we found the people very friendly.
