"Lovely staff, very helpful. Decent hotel, good location for golf and racing. Shame about the restaurant though. Disappointing starter of ‘succulent prawns’ and crab custard. Instead of prawns they used tiny shrimps and couldn’t taste any crab. We ordered two starters, but were told after ordering that that only had one left. Bearing in mind this was only at 6pm, I hope no one else wanted the same! They did deduct it off the bill however. We ordered chip with our mains but had to wait until...

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

"Although the check out time was 12 and we put "Do not disturb"sign on the door, cleaners started cleaning our room while we went for a walk and removed our bag from the room. My husband was going to eat breakfast in the room after the walk but he was shocked as his bag was missing although he put the room service order through night before. There is no communication between the desk & cleaners and cleaners ignore the Do not disturb sign. "

"Beautiful building but lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival in spa, went to make a cup of hot tea and there was no sugar or stir sticks or spoons. Wanted to enjoy the hot tub before massage and it was like a barely warm bath plus the jets were spraying up at your face so you couldn’t sit without getting water in the face. "The property was dated, carpet dirty, bed simple and hard, room side was dusty, no proper tv only iPlayer and YouTube etc, bathroom small and stained and noisy because of the water pump when running hot water and when the next room uses the water, all switches switched all the lights on and off and nothing in-between, stank of oil based paint for the whole of my stay overall wouldn’t stay here again"

"Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day."
