"I left a hand-written note requesting more sugar for the room as it had not been replaced the day before. What I received were half a dozen shrivelled, stained packets which were unusable and placed in the basket so I did not notice them until I came to make a coffee the next morning. This felt like a deliberately nasty act because I had left a note. I reported it to a chap on reception and handed him the packets but he only asked me if I wanted them replaced. I told him not to bother, I just...

"Excellent"

"Location was great. Room was simple and functional. Lots of cold breakfast choices."

"I appreciated the comfortable bed, quiet well-appointed room, helpful staff, and on-site bistro and bar."

"Nice property. There was no staff, but the room was decent although expensive. Kitchen had the basics and the bathroom was well-maintained."

"I was expecting to share a bathroom, but it was in convenient that it was down three flights of stairs. I repaired to my room early as I was not feeling well to discover that the remote for the television was not working, and there were no spare blankets on the room on a chill autumn evening."

"Wifi did not work in rooms and while one staff member did try to help by accessing other networks these were intermittent. This issue was not fixed the whole weekend. Other issues included: - stains on carpet in room - Room service trays with food remains dumped by lift and staff walking past and doing nothing about it - Extremely unfriendly bar staff A pity as location is good and it used to be a pleasant place to stay - but the issues and general offering mean the price is not worth paying....

"Room clean, bed comfortable. Hotel in general looks tired and could do with a spruce up, especially the front entrance. If you don’t book direct with hotel there is a car park charge. Breakfast was included but this was continental which I was not aware of at time of booking. Not a huge selection at breakfast - a few pastries, only one ham, three preformed cheeses. three fruit, watermelon, honeydew melon or pineapple. Full English was an extra charge. Served its purpose of somewhere to stay...

"Very pleased with our room, breakfast and parking"

"Good location and friendly staff, but there was an unacceptable amount of noise coming from the floor joists above our room - every time someone in the room above ours moved our room shook."

"We were greeted by Noah and he served us breakfast each morning and made our stay more pleasant with his cheerfulness. We slept over the Pub and surprisingly had a great nights sleep for all three nights! We were in walking distance of market square and city shopping! Parks close by and Cam river. Enjoyed our stay!"
