"The staff worker at check in was extremely helpful and kind. She went out of her way to be helpful. The grounds are beautiful. Nice large pool. Big rooms with pool patios by each room. There is a lot of road noise in the front of hotel but that is to be expected since it’s on a major road. It was nice to have a restaurant on site."

"My family talked about our wonderful stay here the entire trip. The grounds are incredible! I loved sitting in the rocking chair listening to the man-made waterfall, discovering the rock path with jaw dropping beauty at every turn and enjoying the refreshing pool. The hosts are amazing as well! They truly love showing the place. Breakfast was fantastic and they were so gracious to give us seconds on smoothies. If we are lucky enough to come back to Costa Rica, we know where to stay!"

"The rooms, dining area and facilities were in excellent condition. The range of pools with different temperatures was fantastic as the weather changed. Food was freshly cooked and healthy. The tours available were fantastic for the kids, and the dinosaur tour had some really good animatronics for the jurassic park fans"

"This hotel was amazing. When we arrived they greeted us with a welcome cocktail which we enjoyed in the open air restaurant/bar overlooking Lake Arenal. the room was clean and very pretty. The rooms are individual casitas with small patios in front overlooking the lake. We had a small fridge and a coffee maker in the room, very handy for enjoying morning coffee on our patio with beautiful views. There are 2 pools, one heated, also overlooking the lake. the entire property is meticulously maintained with lawns and lush flowers and vegetation. And the best part is the extremely friendly and helpful staff. "

The food was exceptional across all restaurants, with fresh ingredients, great flavours, and flawless service. Every meal felt special. A true highlight was meeting Gabriel and his father — two of the most gracious, passionate people you’ll ever meet. Their love for the land, the community, and the guest experience shines through in every detail of the resort. Río Perdido is magical in every category: service, nature, activities, food, and atmosphere. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be returning."
