"Beautiful cottage in an amazing setting - ideal for people who don’t want to use their cars once there! Communication with Skykes Cottages was very process heavy tho - we received so many useless emails before the booking, then during the trip there was so many different people to talk to for every problem. They took time to help. They don’t reply to WhatsApp for Hours tho they say to contact you there. Some improvements needed there to make it seamless please 🙏"

6/10 Okay

"The rooms were fairly clean, not as well presented as the former and restraint, which were lovely. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the barman/waiter was great at his job. The bedrooms were very hot, I kept a fan going at all times, provided at reception on request. The property is a bit out the way and I had to walk 20 minutes to the nearest pub to be able to do my work one afternoon. Working WiFi is a bit of an essential in the modern world, especially as my phone only had satellite reception! Still trying to understand how it is a ‘resort’ as no other facilities. I would go back for food but not to stay over"

"Having stayed at the Oyster Fleet Hotel on several occasions. I found the hotel in a great place for travelling out and around Canvey Island. It has nice clean rooms and comfortable beds, which are well presented on your arrival. Having tea and coffee making facilities in the room. With an onsite bar and dining facilities in the bar makes for a comfortable stay. This along with on site free parking along with disabled parking bays. The staff are very helpful and polite, making the hotel have a good all around atmosphere."

"The hotel was OK, but for the price I felt the room was dated compared to other budget hotels. No air con in our room, light switch controlled ALL lights in the room, so no bedside reading light which is really annoying when there's two or more of you sharing a room. TV channel options seemed to be hit and miss. Other than that breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and pleasant. In terms of location it was ideal, but if I was less fussy about location there are probably better value hotels in Maidstone. Oh and you have to pay for parking, not a massive charge, but just include it in the bill, otherwise it just feels like an unnecessary extra cost that I don't think is well advertised when booking"

"Room nice overlooking the lake area………..hotel now looking a bit old and tired……nice to sit outside around the decking overlooking the lake with a nice meal…….the problem with that was two local rats looking for scraps…..but what can you do it’s a countryside hotel ……still a nice place to stay and only 20 mins from brands hatch"
