"Great place for a family - beach within a short walking distance, several pools and a playground to keep kids entertained. Staff are lovely, we had a great stay, our second time there. Took a couple of days and a few requests to get a highchair though and never received coffee pods for the machine despite asking a few times. "Staff was attentive when needed. Very calm and relaxing. If your are looking for a slower pace, relaxation and good food, this is a nice place. Food is fairly expensive compared to the local town a 10 minute walk. A variety of restaurants are available and multiple tourist shops. Parking is horrible, so use service from the airport and the hotel has rental cars if needed, also a Tuk Tuk that transports to Carvoeiro if choosing not to walk the 10 minutes. Great stay. "

"The ultimate escape to real luxury with genuinely fine people. I loved the restored 19th-century palace with very spacious and sleek bedrooms that opened up to individual, private patios fronted by lovely gardens and singing birds. The swimming pool was fresh water, and if you got chilly in the spring weather you could jump into the steam room or sauna. Views of the countryside from the terraces were spectacular.
The cuisine was very well prepared, a good fusion of traditional Portuguese food...

"Terrific property that is very well cared for by their exceptional hospitality and housekeeping staff.
The breakfasts are wonderful and begin at 7 am sharp so you can make your early tee time.
My only criticism would be the underground parking which I found to be tight in a couple of spots but there is surface parking which I used.

"Wonderful hotel.
Fresh tasty buffet breakfast - not a thing to complain about there except if you were staying for more than 3/4 nights it may be nice to have a little more variety. For me yogurt fruit cheese and bottomless coffee was perfect!
Lovely friendly staff who give the best service and advice. Rooms could be slightly updated with chips and scrapes in furnishings, but had a nice the rustic feel.
It would be really nice if the rooms had fridges and kettle.
Overall a brilliant stay! "

"Beautiful hotel which is spotlessly clean and staffed by the most lovely people. My husband and I were discussing how lucky the hotel is to have such brilliant people.
