"The most beautiful hotel in the most idyllic Devon setting. We stayed on a wet and dreary February evening and we didn't even care about the weather. We played tennis in the beautiful gardens in advance of our outstanding 10 course tasting menu dinner with paired wines by Michael Wignall. The sommelier kindly typed out the wine pairings for us at our request. "Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x"

"Really lovely helpful staff. We paid for an upgrade as initial room was small with view of flat roof. Upgraded to suite for an extra £50 for one night but smelt musty and far too hot. Guy on the desk was so friendly and helpful I didn’t have the heart to complain again. "
