"Desk staff were nice, lounge/bar staff, not as much. We knew there were renovations occurring during our stay ahead of time, which were not disruptive. The only issue was a lingering sewage odor for a couple days throughout the property, including our shower. Not terrible, just mildly unpleasant, but I will attribute it to the work being performed."

"Please note that most of the hotels in Norway do not have air conditioning. And most don’t even have ventilation systems, and just rely on opening the window for air. This works if the streets below the rooms are quiet, otherwise, it will be good for the hotels to put a statement on their webpages to let guests know before hand that some rooms may be noisy when the windows are opened. Guests from overseas may have jet lagged and want to sleep early! Thon Hotel Spectrum is one such hotel and has rooms facing busy streets below which is noisy until 11pm."

The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable, and the self check-in process was quick and easy because it was with machines. No breakfast option just some sandwiches, yogurt and toppings and coffee. Despite being so central, the hotel felt quiet and relaxing. A perfect choice for travelers looking for convenience, comfort, and good value in the heart of Oslo."
