"We stayed at Old Posting Inn for 2 nights as wanted to explore the lake District area. We wanted a quiet, quaint village as our base, and the Inn was perfect for our needs. The dinner was excellent and the hosts were lovely. The location itself is15 mins from Cockermouth town centre, 30-40 mins from Kewsick, and 45 mins from Buttermere. All in all, it was a perfect holiday for us, and we will come again!"

"This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Amthweight Hall, the accommodation was excellent, as was the staff, they couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was 10 out of 10, and again, very helpful, as my wife wanted her coffee a paticular temperature, and strength, they bent over backwards to make her perfect cup of coffee !! "This is a wonderful property with lots of historic charm and stunning scenery right on the doorstep! I stayed 4 nights and Karen really looked after me; delicious cooked breakfast each morning and a newly lit fire in the evenings to sit beside. She gave me a tour of her gorgeous garden and introduced me to her feathered friends; the chickens, cockerel and pheasant as well as her lovely dogs. Her knowledge of the house and area is really insightful and Karen was more than happy to advise where...
