"I've stayed at Old Silk Appartments twice so far in apartments 8 and 9. Both I found spotless, white soft towels, comfy beds, tastefully decorated well maintained and adequately appointed. Large fridge freezer, 4 ring hob oven and microwave, basic set of kitchen utensils and a couple of pans adequate to cook something simple. "The bath was dirty, there was a hole in the bathroom door, and a dent in it too. The toilet flush failed at one point and there was no maintenance person on site till the morning. Thankfully it rectified itself. No plug in the sink. The TV didn't work, we tested the socket and it was the socket that didn't work. One of the 2 bedside table lamps didn't work (and was an ancient 2 pin plug!) There was no information in the hotel room about facilities, when things opened, when food was etc. There were some instructions on using the TV which said to refer to the information guide provided (but it wasn't!) We arrived at teatime, and found the food choices limited. We had to ask for plates, as they had run out. The "choice of puddings" was actually the chef's choice of one, although it varied through the course of the meal. When we got to pudding it was black forest gateaux, which neither me nor the kids fancied. Staff lady was helpful and found me a tin of peaches, so I was happy! The swimming pool wouldn't let the children swim (ages 14 & 11) until after 10am. (we were staying overnight) which was a real shame, as it was one of the reasons we had chosen the hotel. Over all it felt dated, unloved and in need of a cash investment. A shame as it would've been amazing in its heyday."

"Room was very spacious, staff welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, lots of options and well suited for my 3 children. Lots of parking. Spa and wellness centre were a highlight, lovely and clean, staff couldn't have been more lovely and welcoming and the pool was nice and warm and perfect for my young children."

"The room was quiet, clean and easy to find. There's a lovely big shower, and the bed is really comfortable. I tried to alter the aircon, which turned it off, but a member of staff came up and immediately helped me sort it out. Before I arrived, I had to add an extra night to my stay. They helped me find the cheapest option, and even made notes on my original booking so that I could stay in the same room for the extra night. Really lovely people and a nice hotel."

"Had a 2 night stay at the hotel in an Executive suite. The reception staff were very warm and welcoming & helpful. It was a business stay on a Friday and Saturday. Parking was good directly outside. Spacious room, very clean and tidy- the bed was absolutely huge and so comfortable it was very luxurious to sleep in after a hard days work. There was a beautiful wedding on at the hotel and looked so beautiful and glamorous, it was lovely to see. Very much enjoyed the stay & would definitely stay again.
