"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere. The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets. All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "

"Open kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom are very clean. Bedrooms are fairly clean, may improve for cleaning of the beds. A few hinges of the cabinets for clothings need to repair. WiFi and TV are excellent. The house and facilities are family friendly, except that there is no dishwasher, no box tissue, no kitchen paper and only 1 roll of tissue paper was provided for 5 persons for staying 4 days/3 nights."

"Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left. It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but...

"Property exceeded expectations. It was so clean and comfortable with lots of extras. Fully fitted kitchen with bedding and towels provided. Had everything you would need. There is parking if you need it. Close to the centre of Keswick so easy to get to shops. Excellent instructions in the cottage and ideas of places to go. Also had books, naps and games. Could not fault this cottage. Would thoroughly recommend. "

"Beech Hill Hotel and Spa is located on the banks of Windermere. If you do not want to drive and fancy an adventure on the buses its serviced by 1 bus which is not frequent so make sure you study the time table. Having said that you can get about quite easily, once in the main towns. The hotel itself is clean and tidy, the rooms are spacious (look out for a step down into the room though). The terrace has a lovely view across the lake. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful . The Spa pool was a reasonable size. Although there is building work preventing walking the grounds it did not have a negative impact, there was minimal noise and disturbance Breakfast gave a big selection and you could ask the staff if there was anything you required that was not on offer. It was buffet style. I would certainly choose this hotel again"
