"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,...

"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "

"Property had reasonable price. However guest at least expecting property to be clean.
There was too many spider everywhere in the property. Clear haven’t clean it properly
I had to spent an hour to clean which something you do not expect in your holiday.
Location was perfect. Easy parking , Just 7 min drive from Windermere. There is local shop around so easy to get stuff."

"Great location and great, safe private parking spot. Cottage is clean, spacious and cosy. Cottage is a little old fashioned, and needs a bit of TLC but the basics are all there and some nice touches- milk in fridge, bread, butter, eggs, tea coffee etc supplied. Would stay again as reasonably priced for what it is."

"Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry.
Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left.
It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but...

"Adam on reception was the best, nothing was to much trouble.
The breakfast was first class.
The hot tub on the balcony helped to make this a 5 star visit and if that is was not enough you can pop down to the swimming pool."
"Beautiful hotel , food in restaurant exceptional, staff very helpful, amazing views !! Dont think they should charge for parking though! Otherwise a lovely place to stay ."
"We stayed for a few nights at the end of July. The hotel itself had good facilities - a lovely spa area and swimming pool, a "pub" underneath the spa/next to the pool, and a balcony area where food was also served. The view over the lake from the balcony was nice, and the food was excellent. It was nice and quiet, and location wise it was a few minutes walk to the lake and then on to Bowness itself. The only downside is that there's no ski lift up to the hotel after a hard day's hillwalking :D
In terms of the bedroom - the bed was comfy and the room was quiet and clean. The furniture was overall good, and the bathroom was a bit small but definitely functional. The only major knock is that there's no air-conditioning, only one desk fan. This was ok when we went, but would no doubt have been very difficult if we had gone during one of the heatwaves.
Overall though, I'd recommend staying at Lakes (also - visiting the Lake District in general!)"
"Really clean and well presented hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel was well laid out.
Excellent gym and pool and the food was fantastic both at breakfast and dinner.
Unfortunately no EV charging and dogs were allowed in the restaurant (a family were actually feeding their dog at breakfast!). These are minor issues for a really nice hotel however."
