"Grounds and castle were beautiful. Unfortunately spa facility’s were not open, nor were 2 of the 3 restaurants. Service was somewhat inconsistent, especially at the bar. We sat for 10 minutes before bartender acknowledged us, only after me asking if we could get a drink. Same experience in the restaurant - one night was great and next night we weren’t even offered wine and drink list. Very odd."

"Unfortunately this property has seen better days. It’s a deteriorating manor house in serious need of TLC. I wouldn’t recommend for other solo female travelers as my door’s lock was shoddy and there’s no in person staff to check you in and assist you if there’s issues. It was overpriced for what it was and I regret not saying in a Premier Inn nearby that would’ve been cheaper, cleaner and better serviced."

"The hotel its a bit dated but the staff its great, welcoming and friendly. I couldnt have breakfast but the receptionist packed a bag for me. Super kind. The room was clean, with a big window so it was very pleasant in the morning. Bathroom was clean and overall a good size. The location its also great and easy transport to the city centre. I feel safe. I will come back again."

"The toilet was so high up i couldn't do a sh*t. I'm six foot tall, but when I was sat on the toilet my feet were not touching the ground. Overall, the place was pretty bleak, e.g. no mirror in the bedroom to check my outfit, only one pillow so I got neck ache in bed, no towel rail or hooks anywhere in the bathroom so couldn't hang up a towel, no hook in the bedroom to hang up a coat, no toilet roll holder. "Possibly the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I didn’t receive the check in instructions, so on arriving had to spend around an hour trying to figure things out. There are no staff at the property and the phone number on their website is incorrect. Room had no bin, no mirror or tea & coffee facilities. This is a basic. "The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities."
