"Although upon arrival, we were quite put off by the exterior condition and appearance of this old Quality Inn, once in our room, most everything seemed updated and clean. The beds and bedding were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked well. The heater was suitably quiet too. The TV was like any other motel TV's. Like the "by Wyndham" franchises, in this case..a "Choice Hotels" franchise buys up old hotel chains and specializes in giving renovation advantages to franchisees who pass on lower pricing to customers. Of course they are not gleaming new hotels. I would say on average the "free" breakfast was just as good as that at any other full priced hotel with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and all the rest. One glaring unrenovated issue in our room was a delaminating hollow core door between the sink vanity and the shower/toilet room and a rusting steel door frame at floor level...undoubtedly caused by years of mopping the floor.
