"There was excellent communication when you asked about anything you needed and directions ."

"Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking. It was quiet. The room (we had a King Suite) was very spacious and comfortable. Having a Chili's Restaurant in the hotel was very convenient as we ate there a couple of times. Would stay there again."

"We stayed in a pet friendly room, where our dog quickly located a chocolate covered raisin on the floor and began eating it (both chocolate and raisins are toxic to dogs). We searched the floor thoroughly afterwards and found a loonie, a discarded plastic bottle cap, and an old wine gum candy, along with a super thick layer of dust in corners and behind the beds and nightstands. Some attention to detail with cleaning is needed."

"Banff is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The otter hotel was that as well. I would love to stay there again in the future."

"The room was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the hotel was under construction, so there was quite a bit of noise in the mornings. There was also no AC, which was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was average with limited options. Overall, the stay was okay, but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially with the amenities and construction noise."

"Honestly, the pictures do not look anything like the room we had not to mention I booked on Expedia, not thinking when I got to the resort that there would be extra fees that I had to pay, and when I booked, they did not say that I would have to pay for parking extra all it said was that there was parking on site not that you had to pay for it and the resort fees you would think that’s included in the Expedia price seeing as the room was over $600."

"Hotel was clean and updated. Courtyard hot tub was excellent."

"We enjoyed our short stay at the Douglas Fir though did not have time to enjoy many of the amenities as we were out exploring each day. The beds were comfortable and the loft room spacious with a well functioning kitchen so we could cook our own meals. The property is a long walk to the centre of town but there is a bus stop right outside, we had a car so this wasn't an issue for us. The only negative with this property is that a resort of this size does not have any on site laundry...
