"The location is great. Right by the beach, centrally located to all the attractions. Pool and pool area are great too. The rest in my opinion falls short of the 4 star, $500+ per night (with all the taxes and fees) hotel. I would give it 3.75 stars but there is no such option. Some areas are dated. You can tell the hotel tries to maintain them by painting stuff over but it shows. For me the worst were supply and return grills for the A/C unit. Very dirty. "The rooms are only cleaned every 5th day. How every they changed this without notice. So we almost didn't get it cleaned. All the ice machine were broken. When you brought issues to the staff, the gave excuses not remedies. We have stayed here before and had went down hill tremedusly."

"The Grand Hyatt Kauai is an excellent pick for this island. It is a beautiful hotel right by the beach and has several great pools, a lazy river, a waterslide and a saltwater lagoon. "First time here and great place to stay. Came with my wife and four kids. Kids loved the pool, the grill was great and awesome outdoor area with gorgeous views. Room was just remodeled, great kitchen and two nice rooms. Would definitely stay again. Easy check in and plenty of parking. Great location. Close to many stores."
