"The staff are the greatest asset. All friendly, helpful and smiling. The food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional. The room was huge - only negative was that it was a big too warm inside because the weather was sunny. No air con ( I don’t think). The grounds are gorgeous and views breathtaking. Extremely handy for Explorers Garden and Pitlochry theatre. Will definitely be back. Great facilities : gym, pool, hit tubs - lovely bar area too. "

"A little disappointed I didn’t get a welcome drink and I did not want to ask for one, but it’s the first time I’ve stayed in a 5 star hotel and not been offered a welcome drink. I’d just come from the peninsula in London which was fabulous and was offered soft drinks and champagne on arrival there. But especially disappointing since I read other reviews seeing that they had gotten them. The staff were absolutely lovely, particularly the door staff who helped with luggage. "This beautiful hotel would benefit from having a ‘Scottish ‘theme to it . Obviously this is just a personal view, but its attempt to modernise has removed the authentic character of the building. The dining room felt rather like a school dining room with tables lined up in exact straight rows. No table cloths, no curtains, just blinds which made the room very noisy & rather unwelcoming. "
