"Beds were comfy. Staff were friendly. The hotel is noisy. You have to pay for parking by the day and each time you use the pool or gym."

"Eines der schönsten Hotels in denen ich bisher war. Es ist, als ob man in einem Museum übernachtet, man kann die Geschichte förmlich spüren."

"Nice clean room with comfy bed and good shower. Security on car/motorcycle parking not good."

"Not the best experience. The hotel positioned me and my toddler next to a loud DJ until midnight followed by all the punters then coming out to the rooms next door and keeping us up until the small hours. I was told a refund would be given but then this offer has since been rescinded with hindsight. I would not recommend staying here."

"Great facilities."

"This is an old coaching inn, and has the characteristics you expect including timbers and low ceilings in the older section. The room was comfortable but could do with renovation. Breakfast was ok but a little limited. The biggest issue in the lobby and dining room was the perpetual music being played on repeat. It was intrusive and monotonous. The hotel is well paced in the High St with shops and restaurants nearby and in convenient for the river and the castle. Satisfactory for our...

"A warm welcome from the gentleman at the front desk but from here on out nothing else positive to say. When opening the room door, we were hit by the smell of stainless, mold and feet. The bed somehow smelt like urine, vomit and damp mold. Many flying bugs in the room, sofa bed was so flimsy the kids felt sea sick in the morning. We were meant to stay 2 nights, but only just managed 1, reported to be fully booked so no change of room available and too late to find a replacement. Refund...

"Friendly staff"

"This true Kentish pub is fabulous, the accommodation is comfortable and clean, the staff are welcoming friendly and helpful. The menu is varied and food is great. A pleasure to visit this historic pub."

"The staff were very helpful, going above the call of duty.Breakfast was cooked well and according to ones taste. The shower was clean and good. Parking is off road and was easily available. On one occasion we had to park in paid parking just round the corner, which is plentiful. The building is well maintained. Communication was good"

"Staff were welcoming and helpful the room was great the bed was really comfortable and a good river view"

"The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!"

"Very comfortable for the price"
