"Really nice hotel. Room was really hot but it was a heat wave and probably not a problem most of the time. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially in the pub for dinner and breakfast. Easy access to train station and travel in to London. Was a nice place to stay outside of all the business. Easy access to Stansted airport too. Would definitely stay again."

"We chose an inside room, hoping for a dark night, but found out later there was a skylight in the ceiling, which was bright all night long, eye masks were provided. Because the room was windowless there was no airflow, there was a fan on the bedside table, but room was rather hot and stuffy. The beds were just OK. The food at the restaurant was mediocre. Service was great! The grounds were beautiful. Would stay again in a different room."

"Lovely area - Harlow Park. The property has a beautiful well- kept garden. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere in the house was homely. Food and drink available to buy and prepare on site in the well- eqipped kitchen. Books and board games galore. "

"This hotel just scraped into 'Okay'. Modern enough property but running on minimum staff. Sometimes Reception unattended ('due to fire walk'). We discovered as we were leaving for an engagement that in fact our hotel door did not lock. (Going in we used the key and it opened but in fact it was open anyway. "Cheap room but conveniently located near Ilford Station. Codes needed for access to main door and hotel room. Rooms look dated and bare basics are there. It's in keeping with price, but if paying over £45-50, find a travelodge."

"There was no AC. being a listed building makes it hard to install AC. the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. One sash window could only open about 20cm at the bottom, as secondary double glazing had been installed it was not possible to open the top part. The other window only opened at the bottom but would not stay open so staff put a cushion there to keep it open. They gave us another fan which helped. Because of the heat in the room we could not close the curtains at night as that...

"The room was suitable for our short stay, however with such lovely expanse of grounds it was therefore unfortunate that the view from our room was a 12foot high brick wall. Despite there being no air conditioning the room had a patio door which once open cooled the room. Upon request the hotel provided a fridge for my elderly mothers insulin, unfortunately the fridge was faulty and froze the insulin which caused a unplanned medical issue. "First of all, don't go there if you're used to sleeping with AC, the room had none of that, nor any ventilation, and was built of the most heat trapping bricks you could ever imagine, nights were hell and full of sweat. If you're fine with that, it was clean alright, they offered room service, and the reception was opened 24/7, so awesome service for the price point."
