Just not up to Marriott standards
The air conditioning had broken just before we arrived. We were advised on check in and told that we could cancel on the spot and get a refund (don’t believe they could since we had prepaid to Expedia ). Since it was being worked on and perhaps it would be fixed before bed time. We stayed, which was a mistake. We asked for a fan, but frankly it didn’t make much difference.
The staff were ok with what they have to work with, but there’s a clear lack of attention to detail and it showed on many things. No conditioner in the shower, limited hand wash by the sink, no lime at the bar (when they have corona on draft) , missing items in the menu for dinner… speaking about dinner, we were asked to order and pay in advance (and this was a sit down dinner). I’m not sure if they think travellers are about to do a runner, but we found the whole situation very weird.
On check out - at 5am - no one asked how was our stay, whether we needed any help… nothing. I’ve done my share of airport hotels and frankly this was below expectations.
