"We had a wonderful stay! The staff members were so friendly and helpful, as was the owner Pam. They really made us feel at home. The villas are beautiful charming little suites with the bedroom and bathroom in an upstairs loft. The gardens and pool are all very enchanting and well kept. The location is perfect- on a very quiet street but everything you need is right aground the corner. Very close to the town center. Perfect stay! "

"This is a lovely little gem on Cozumel—very laid-back and family-style. The property is run by a very friendly and attentive owner who is often on-site, which made the stay feel safe and welcoming. "Hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We were in Cozumel visiting friends for four days and found Puerto Libre to be in an excellent spot right on the strip. It was far enough away from the cruise ship ports to be quiet yet accessible to all the hotspots. I highly recommend this hotel."

"We love this property. Close to everything downtown and very easy to get a taxi anywhere you want to go. Breakfast in the morning is amazing! Rooms are very spacious. Love the pool overlooking the water. Our only complaint is don’t get a room overlooking breakfast area if you don’t like noise. Walls are thin and the blanking of the dishes is a bit much. But the hotel was so nice to change rooms for us. All in all a wonderful place to stay. "

"Excellent stay. Very comfortable room and shared spaces. We rented a scooter a few days directly from the property which was very convenient. Location is a little away from downtown which we found to be more quiet. Felt safe walking around even at night. There are several great food options within a few blocks. Would definitely stay again when in the area. "

"it was a rainy day in Cozumel and my room was flooded. The entire corner by the window was flooded completely and I had to place towels to soak up the waterfall. When I told the front desk, they did not seem bothered. They did not apologies at all. They just said that when they had time someone would go and fix the issue. Funny to say the fix was an extra two towels by the window. This place is falling apart and it does not worth the $$$ I spent. At least I was expecting an apology."

"Hotel Mary Carmen is a beautiful hotel which exceeded our expectations! Location is safe, quiet, very walkable (5min from the ferries, 1min from the plaza), and easy to find upon arrival. We loved the old-fashioned style with shared living spaces, and the garden and turtles. We appreciated the free water refill jugs on each floor and the first aid kits free for use. Our room was large (we got a free upgrade) and clean, had great wifi, quiet and functional AC unit, tidy bathroom, and good water...

"This place was fine for wha we paid, honestly it was quick stop and we wanted a pool but it was not really in the best area if you want to venture out. "

"No water pressure when arrived which was fixed great third day. Pool is amazing. Room had bugs but was sprayed day two which helped. Love the view. Staff not always friendly and did not even acknowledge us when entering or leaving. The friendliness was quite different then our great Thanksgiving stay. Would recommend stay on upper levels only. The shower could not have been cleaned as no water pressure."

"The staff was helpful, the room and public areas were clean and well maintained. Great location. Air conditioning did not work. Management did not offer an apology nor did they offer some sort of compensation for our discomfort. My wife has asthma and had a difficult time."
