Paid for a superior king-size room on half board (dinner bed and breakfast) at a cost of £282.40
The general areas in the hotel are beautiful and luxurious.
Room allocated was not the superior. Window sills covered in dead flies. Electric plugs broken on appliances. White fluid? Sprayed up the curtains, mold on shower floor.
Dinner was a fiasco, 30 mins to get a drink, 1 hour 17 mins to get our food. I asked for a rib eye steak Medium. Steak was cooked well done and was cold. Chips were frozen chips. £34 for a cold burnt steak and frozen chips. The only reason i didn't send it back was it was already 9pm and couldn't wait another hour.
3 tables next to us waited 2 hour plus for their food. No organisation at all. Our server was covering every position in the restaurant as nobody had a fixed job or set area to look after. By far the worst dining experience i have had at a hotel.
Breakfast was the high point of our stay. A really good selection of food available and the staff in the restaurant were really good.
On checking out, i highlighted our disappointment in the room and was immediately told i have been given a £50 refund as i was given the wrong room. As i explained everything else, the Duty manager came over and apologised and said she had been made aware of the evening meal issues and offered to refund the extra charges from the restaurant.
Whilst i appreciate the apology and refund of £50 and £27 i would have rather had the experience i paid for
