" I was unsure about this booking as reviews was mixed, the self coded check in as i tried to use the key pad the sun was so bring you could not see to use it , but luck that someone was their to let me in manually, I was confused with codes as they gave you same code for front door and was same for your room, i managed in the end to get the right telephone number of contact and was assured that was correct, and it was actually all ok, the TV apparently was not programmed and so I did not...

"Reasonable hotel, similar to a Travelodge. Very overpriced for my two day stay. I expected more for the price when I booked. Bedroom was adequate, bathroom needed a makeover."

"Great pub/hotel/bistro in a beautiful peaceful village. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a wedding with so needed an early check-in and late return. Both were accommodated for. Room was clean, fresh. Continental breakfast was included in price. We also paid extra for cooked b/fast. Very nice freshly cooked, hot, good quality products. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Star Inn and stay there again. Or even go for a nice meal. Give it a go ! "

"So, a one night stay for Donington Park and it was a head on a pillow. The property is in dire need of an uplift. It felt like I was staying in a care home to be honest. The food in the restaurant was excellent but the atmosphere, oh my days,so quiet and sterile. Get some background music on...... And no air-conditioning."

"The property is tired and rooms and bathrooms need updating. Beautiful old hotel with history! Staff extremely helpful with a smile. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the boiler was not working in the main building but the rooms with hot water were too hot in 30+ degree temps, uncomfortable to sleep in, so we were given both rooms, one where it was cool enough to sleep in and the other we can have hot water. Very accommodating! Thank you."

"Room was a generous size, bed really comfy, towels a good size and curtains full length and thick, keeping the light out so enabling us to sleep on in the morning. Room looked a bit tired but there was some redecorating going on in the hotel. Problem with the shower in that water temperature was too hot and couldn't be reduced. "The car park was next to hotel room was clean with coffee and also bottles of water. Nice selection for breakfast but not much selection for evening meal .But because the information in the room wasn't updated it said the restaurant was closed and didn't find out till the last night."

"Stayed 2 nights visiting family. Ate breakfast and evening meals each day of our stay. Beds so comfortable, air con worked well, quiet room. Restaurant was excellent, food very reasonably priced, served up quickly by very very friendly staff. The Manager and Bar Manager were fantastic a credit to Marston’s. All the waiters and waitresses were amazing. Will definitely return."

"This hotel is right by the airport. very easy to find. Decent sized carpark; £10 a night. my room was a long walk to the front door and a bit baffling to find. There are signs but a bit invisible and they could do with more info just after the meeting rooms hall (and the staff know this, they were not at all surprised when I had to ask how to get there twice). "Booked as we had an early flight from East Midlands airport. Owner met us soon after we arrived. Nice room, great comfy bed, very good shower. Advised there was a good restaurant just down the road (15 min walk) which we visited and had a very tasty meal. Left in the morning too early for breakfast, but not host’s fault. Very good nights sleep. Plenty of parking. Road to airport a bit narrow and windy, but we made it in plenty of time. Would recommend."
