This is a lovely old building with which I am familiar (40+ years) and is in a great central position with very good transport links.
Sadly, the place is looking very tired and is in need of refurbishment. Carpets are looking worn, doors in my room were cracked, windows only open a small distance, wallpaper had lifted away from the wall and furniture was shabby. However, the staff were friendly and attentive, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable; I slept really well - which is really what is most important to me when I’m travelling. Price was good but it’s a shame that the building and facilities have deteriorated so much.
