"Great staff, couldn’t do enough including one lending me his phone cable. Reasonably priced accommodation and food. Beautiful setting near Beamish museum. Large comfy bed, bath robes, bottled water and teabag’s etc. Shower grouting could do with a clean but good pressure. Very shallow washbasin which splashed you when the taps turned on if you’re not aware of it. Would definitely stay again."

"Lovely Inn with friendly and welcoming staff. Room was spacious and bathroom clean. Over the bath rainfall shower. Food in the pub was good. Standard pub fayre with specials. Angel of the North visible from the window and five minutes drive away. We wanted to be near the Beamish Living Museum and this was perfect. A 10 minute drive away. We were halfway through the Hadrian’s Wall cycle way and it was ideal place to stay with friendly efficient service, good food and staff who really looked after you. Lovely welcome and check-in spoiled by an older lady I believe called Nicola (that’s what came up on the digital till when I purchased a drink later in the evening) who involved herself unnecessarily in the check-in process. "Staff were really friendly but there was no property owned parking so had to park across the road in a public car park. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality linen. We were given a special access room on the ground floor but we were looking forward to a bath in the room which is what I thought we had booked but not a major issue but if you are booking you may want to make them aware if you want a bath rather than wet room. "

Clean and tidy room with spacious bathroom. Meals were excellent. Chefs are first class and every meal cooked to perfection. Quality food. A hearty breakfast provided a great start to our days. "The Bowes Hotel is a lovely hotel and pub in a small village near Hadrian's Wall. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, fresh, and renovated within last 5 years. My friend stated if she could pack the bathroom in her suitcase and take it home she would! And, we had a lovely view of their garden. Would definitely stay there again. "

"We can not fault anything, it was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in the gatehouse room which was incredible and extremely comfortable, the inn it’s self is so cosy and it’s definitely the friendliest inn that we have been in, the food was 10 out 10 the views from the beer garden where beautiful, the staff where so lovely and nothing is too much for them, they just want to look after you.
