"As a North American traveler, you need to make sure you select a western room that has a shower. Some of the rooms do not have a shower and you need to use the baths. This is a problem if you have a morning flight as the bath not open early enough. It is also a problem if you think you can shower in your own room."
"If you are a non-smoker, do yourself a favour and skip this place. The hotel uses central air conditioning and the rooms on the non-smoking floor (level 7) smell musky with a stale cigarette stench. We had 3 rooms in my group and all the rooms were the same even when we changed rooms. In addition, most of the service staff were non-Japanese, they could not communicate well and did not appear to be well trained and quite rude. "This spot may not be one of the bigger roykans but is very hospitable. English friendly and onsen is tattoo friendly unfortunately the onsens are incredibly small the outside can only fit 2-3 people and the inside one is barely double that size. Dinner and breakfast were incredible."
