"The exterior of the resort was wonderful but our room was terrible. There was water on the balcony that made it impossible to use the entire space. The furniture was old and outdated and every room, at the price I paid (way too much) should have a clean robe."

"Excellent staff support during check in and check out. Great to have desk staff call for taxi.Good shop for treats, coffee, alcohol next door. Did not go to any shops but was able to walk to church and water concourse. "

"Okay, this is a difficult one to review. Its a really cool, unique and eclectic place. HOWEVER, the way they advertise it needs yo change. I had emailed them 3 times to make sure there was parking because it is rare in Old San Juan. That is why I booked it because it said there was parking. THERE IS NOT PARKING. Do not even bring your car to old San Juan. Get an Uber from the airport and the. Go back and get your rental car when you are done. We showed up to the Gallery Inn at midnight and it was a madhouse with people and cars everywhere. No parking is on site at this hotel. The parking garage 4 blocks away is often times full which was our case. Do we had to drive all the way back to Regular San Juan and the cheapest hotel we could find last minute at 1 AM was $520! Thankfully that hotel said we could leave our car there and get an Uber to The Gallery Inn the next day to finish our stay. I thought the Gallery should give us a refund but they did not…nonetheless I will say then good about this place. It is walking distance to everything in Old San Juan if you are mobile. They have a great rooftop bar, piano bar, unique birds and art all on property. The rooms were artistic and lovely albeit old. Beds were comfortable. Staff were very sweet. Things to be aware of: this is an old building bc its OLD SAN JUAN it smells old and the plumbing is old. The walkways are real brick including in the hotel. This is not best for people with mobility issues. See rest of review on google."

"I’m not being harsh. I’m being honest. The rating that this hotel misled me so I want to give real information. The location is good but loud. There is a bar and a restaurant next to the hotel in the alley and every night after dinner it got very loud until after midnight. The floors in the room levels has not been redone and they are so scarred (to be fair it’s antique tile) it’s hard to tell if they are clean. But the floor in my room was not clean. My feet were filthy the first night from walking barefoot to the.bathroom. The bathrooms are tiny. There was no maid service. If I wanted that I’d be at an Airbnb. Didn’t even ask to change my towels until I asked. The staff was all over the place. A few were nice but many were snarky and unfriendly. I will never stay here again. "

"Pros: 1. Perfect location in the middle of everything in Old San Juan 2. Balcony was cute and accessible 3. Room itself was nice and roomy. 4. Caters to the party crowd Cons: 1. Someone is short cutting on cleaning as we found trash, bottles, and caps under the couch The floors were clearly not clean and the couch is in a great need for a deep cleaning because there were some sketchy stains and busted pillows 2. This is not a family with kids location. It most definitely caters to the youthful party type crowd 3. Since there’s no front desk, there’s no one to monitor noise levels of guests coming in from partying. We were up all night because people were hooping and hollering coming in from their night out. 4. The company sent multiple options for parking garages but since you can’t check in until 4, parking is a nightmare! Every parking garage was full so we were in our car for over an hour circling the tiny cobble stone streets, dodging drunk tourists to find a parking spot. Overall, if I were a 20 something year old with no kids, this would be my jam."

"This property has ALMOST everything. Pros- Amazing location within short walking distance to anything that you could hope to see or anywhere you care to eat in Old San Juan. Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds, quality pillows and sheets, large showers with nice water. pressure, and in-room Nespresso machines. Amazing architecture with see-through floors in common areas with a view from the ground floor all the way to the roof top restaurant. Roof top deck with views of the city Cons - Some rooms do not have window. If you are claustrophobic, make sure to call the hotel and let them know that you need a real window. Slow and small elevators. They’re real creepers and only large enough for two people if you have luggage. Luckily, there are two of them. A wee bit pricey, but you’re getting what you pay for. Overall thoughts: while we would probably try to find less expensive rooms if we could, we wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Alma."
