"I require a mobility assessable room due to a broken leg. Their bathroom was large, it fit my walker just fine, the toilet height was regulation. The bathtub had one horizontal long (maybe 3’ long). But there was no vertical handle at the back edge of the tub to assist me with safely getting in and out of the tub. Before I stepped in I checked the towel rack, which was fairly close by and grabbed to see if it was strong enough to keep me from falling as I got out of the tub. Someone must have tried to use it before because it was loose when I grabbed it.
Let me explain my concern. My husband I had just moved into a new house (not brand new, but new to us). I pointed out there were no bars, even towel bars in the bathroom. As I stepped out onto the bath mat I fell backwards into the tub which resulted in a concussion and 18 stitches in my calf. NOT FUN! A 5 or 6” vertical bar solved that problem. I recommend it."
