"I stayed at Papagayo for 4 days with a group of six friends. Check-in was seamless, and thankfully, the concierge escorted us to our room. Since I was the one who selected the hotel, I made it a point to check out everyone’s rooms, and overall, they were very nice. The only thing I didn’t completely love was navigating the cobblestone walkways with a suitcase and while wearing heels, but we made it work. Cleanliness: 6/10 This was one area where there was definitely room for improvement. Upon closer inspection, housekeeping could have done a more thorough job before our arrival. There were greasy fingerprints on the cabinets, mirrors, and other surfaces that should have been wiped down. The couches also had very noticeable stains—so noticeable that I chose not to sit on them during my stay. The ironing board could also benefit from routine inspection and cleaning when needed. Comfort: 9/10 The comfort level was excellent. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and I slept very well throughout the trip. A few things worth noting: * Face towels are not automatically provided; you’ll need to request them from the front desk. * Air conditioning is connected to the doors and windows. If a door or window is left cracked open, the AC will shut off. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way and ended up having one very uncomfortable night. * If you’re visiting from the U.S., you’ll need an adapter for your phone and electronics. "The staff, Cindy and Hector, were excellent. The Villa on the Papapagay Resort was excelllent! I am not an AC person, so for us to have control of our own AC in our own 2 bedrooms was just wonderful. We had our own bathrooms too. The 80 degree weather with the continuous breeze from the huge wrap around porch (with the native birds visiting us) into the livingroom/kitchen added to our wonderful experience! There were only a few photos when I booked it, so I was pleasantly surprised. The 3-10 minute walk to the pool, beach and supermarket was perfect! The entertainment (DJs and band) and boutiques on the busy beach were great too! I am still talking about it to my friends and would joyfully stay there again! Cabs are expensive, so it is better to rent a car but Cindy Hector and another guy at the front desk that I cannot recall helped us with that. Peace Maria"

"We had a lovely time at CHOGOGO, but for a resort, some things were lacking, such as someone greeting upon arrival, bringing our bags up the stairs to our room, the lack of cleaning by housecleaning, and a few more. It was more a Airbnb vibe than a resort. But for the most part, it did not hinder the amazing time that we had. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. PROS * Fast check-In * Attentiveness and communication of staff when issues arise * Small plunge pool and hot tubs across from the sea view apartment. * The Sea view * Fantastic breeze on patio * Streaming Apps: Netflix & YouTube * Kitchen utensils, etc * AC in the bedroom * Supermarket steps away * The Restaurant on grounds- very good CONS * Improper seating in the living room. The chairs are totally uncomfortable to sit with your spouse and watch TV. * Uncomfortable beds * No lighting for entry at night into the room * Improper lighting in the bedroom. * Housecleaning: Biggest Issue. They clean every 3 days which is great! But they just threw the towels on top of the towel rack, don’t clean anywhere. Everything was just as it was left. They only things they did were, change the towels in the bathroom and the kitchen, take out the garbage, and make up the bed. Dirty patio with bird poop. The fact that reviews complained about some of these issues and they were not addressed cause a lack of repeat customers, not good!"

"The room was clean and Staff was super friendly. Location is oké. If you want to go to the beach it Will take you up too a 10 minute walk. Traveling by bus is also possible. This is easier, because it stops infront of the door."
