"Don’t stay here. Bugs in the rooms. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. No coffee at all. The floor was filthy with obvious neglect. The toilet wasn’t even cleaned. The main light for our room was missing the globe and only had one lightbulb in it. The ice machine and the soda machine were broken. The mattress was too small for the bed frame and the exposed frame poked out about 5 inches. My husband was injured by it multiple times. There’s more but I believe the point has been made. I will include photos for validation."
"Unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable hotel stays we’ve had. The room appeared old, poorly maintained, and not very clean. The pillowcases looked worn and stained, the carpet felt dirty, and several of the bed linens were torn.
The bathroom was especially disappointing. The shower had visible rust, and the water never became more than lukewarm. Sleep was also difficult because the blackout curtains did not properly cover the window, allowing bright outdoor lights to shine into the room throughout the entire night.
There were also several signs of poor attention to detail, such as a coffee maker being provided without the coffee pot. Overall, the room felt neglected and in need of a thorough deep cleaning and maintenance update. I would not choose to stay here again unless significant improvements were made."
"Our stay was truly remarkable. The kind of visit that wraps you in comfort and feels just like home. The house was beautifully clean, and learning about its history added such depth to our time there. This house is a true gem and adds to Muscatine’s rich heritage, making the experience even more memorable. Breakfast was fantastic, with freshly made fruit salad and a sausage frittata prepared with such love by Karl, along with Mary’s wonderful homemade breakfast breads that made the morning feel extra special. We made such lovely memories, and my daughter was absolutely enchanted by the loft. A stay we will treasure."
"Very nice! Staff was very friendly & helpful. Room was spacious & comfortable & we always like the roomy bathrooms. Breakfast areas was better than many hotels. First floor was under renovation, but never disturbed us. When we travel we usually look for a Hampton Inn & this one was just what we needed."
