"Hotel is on owner’s property. Very little interaction with them except a few calls. 3 stars is because of the smell of mildew and mold but it may be something they cannot control in a tropical location. However, it is so close to the National Volcano Park. We didn’t waste time driving to get there. Able to arrive early without having to wake up too early."

"Crater Rim Cabin is an amazing and special place to stay. It's a unique cabin, incredibly clean and cozy, and Jim and Barry are the most thoughtful hosts. The grounds are gorgeous and you can't beat the 5-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park. Our every need was anticipated, from fresh drinking water to an extra fan for the bathroom (it's a wood cabin in a rainforest, after all!) and heated blankets on the large, comfortable bed.
