"The Thames Head Inn is a great gem. It's about a 1 mile walk from the Kemble train station, I walked alongside the road since taxi service is scarce and had no problems. There aren't any other businesses nearby, so I ate dinner there as well (delicious) and paid for breakfast the next morning (also delicious). "We chose The Market Tavern because of it's location - it is in the same village where our son, daughter-in-law and new grandson live and we were visiting.
The whole property has been tastefully renovated and is lovely. We had eaten in the pub before but not stayed.
Bampton is a quaint village with plenty of amenities and is well placed for visiting lots of interesting places.
Breakfast was good with cold and cooked choices. Staff were friendly and attentive.
