"Honestly from the photos and everything it seemed like a bigger property and a lot more moving room but it is suffocated by the golf course. Understandable for the players and all, but you can’t walk your dogs freely, you can’t walk closer to the water, it’s very restricted where the golf course sits right in front of the hotel, and you can’t go past that golf course. Restaurant are very limited menus and food was good not bad.
The pool, the courtyard, it’s all fine, the restaurants were OK,...

"Good:
Excellent vacation spot, literally right on the ocean. The hotel provides and sets up everything you need for a day on their private beach - chairs, umbrellas, towels, tables etc. Food and drink service is available on the beach as well.
Beach staff was very friendly and responsive, and didn't expect tips (for non-food services).
Hotel is cashless - everything is charged to your room.
Room has a kitchen with plates, utensils etc.
Parking is included and plentiful.

"This hotel never disappoints. We’ve been coming for years and each time it’s a perfect vacation. The hotel is very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The location is prime for walking and enjoying quiet evenings. And the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The price per night is in the higher end but not unreasonable. If you’re able to splurge this is the place to stay!"

"The staff of the hotel was absolutely top notch. Great location. Being a historic hotel you get the good and bad of that. Great location, great aesthetic, along with small rooms and other issues that come with older buildings. Worth the stay for a weekend in La Jolla."
