"This a fantastic hotel/ryokan hybrid with excellent staff, an amazing onsen and a kid friendly vibe. The breakfast buffet is a must and there is daily ice cream in the afternoon in their relaxation room. The location is great, walkable from the underground east exit of the Kyoto station. The hotel is no-shoes and they provide all guests with comfortable pjs to use in your room and around the hotel. They have coin laundry so don’t over pack. Believe the hype, or, better, keep this place a wonderful secret. Come prepared to embrace the Japanese culture of quiet, kindness and beauty."

The breakfast was our favorite throughout all of our Japan travels. I brought my students on a spiritual pilgrimage to Japan and this hotel made everyone wonderful while we were in Kyoto⛩️ I'm getting ready to make another reservation to come back with my husband in a few days. "I had a great experience. They made everything worry free. A shuttle from the train station. Being welcomed into the lounge to check-in in comfort. Being given a welcome drink. Then when the check-in is completed, being escorted to my room. Unheard of where I’m from. The room was exactly what I had hoped and more. The private bath on the patio was such a great treat. I was pretty dead after the last 2 weeks of being on the move and being surrounded by loud tourists. While a quick stay, this was exactly what I needed. The food. I need to make myself perfectly clear, all tasted great. I loved the experience. I will warn my picky NA eaters or people on the spectrum who struggle with textures. The kaiseki meal will likely be a struggle for you. I was fighting for my life XD. But I knew this going in and wanted to do it anyway. I’m very happy I did. My mantra, “They simply will not feed you something that tastes bad.” And they didn’t. I also asked for a drink recommendation and the plum wine and soda went crazy. So good. The staff were all awesome! I made train reservations while I was still in Kyoto and already had my tickets and couldn’t reschedule for reasons. But my train was leaving before the first morning shuttle. They had the shuttle make a special trip just for me nearly an hour early, which I was super appreciative of. All in all a fantastic place. I hope to return on my next trip, and take advantage of the other amenities. The spa looked really nice."

"Beautiful property with the pond and the garden. Hotel is impeccable clean, comfortable and polite everything you would expect from a luxury hotel. Next time we’re in Kyoto we will stay here again. Thank you ! "

"Not the best hotel, pictures don’t do justice, the building itself is in poor condition the bed and pillow really uncomfortable. Will not be staying there again and it is too far from tourist attractions. "
