"Great location with just a short walk to the lake. All of the staff were friendly & helpful. The room was very clean & well presented with a lovely view from the balcony. The food was great too"

"We had a lovely night here. The hotel is really clean with lots of character & beautiful gardens. Our room was cosy, the bed was really comfy & the shower was hot! Plenty of teas& coffees to use & good quality toiletries too. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice of hot food cooked to order & a good assortment of cereals., yogurts & top quality fresh fruits. Thecstaff were all very friendly & helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into Bowness or the lake. Can definitely recommend this hotel. "

"Lovely hotel with lots of original features. Rooms were spotless, good decorative standard and the beds are so comfortable. Air conditioning and heating you can control yourself. DH Lawrence stayed there once. Good location, free parking, near to shops, but not too close. They do the best bourbon Ive ever tasted and lots of different drinks like English vodka. Only thing Id rate less than 5 stars was the night porter who I just found a bit difficult, not that helpful and a little odd, but that...

"Still a great hotel but things have definitely slipped since my last few visits. Slow check in, bathroom extractor fan not working, partially blocked bath and faulty lights. All small problems but it does point to slipping standards. I’ll give it one more go, based on previous experiences but might have to find another favourite hotel for my trips to Blackpool if things remain the same. "
