"Very pleasant one night stay, the snug area is a nice retreat for hotel guests to get quite time away from the bustling bar....Staff v helpful and friendly....Had an excellent Roast on a Sunday, excellent beef and good value, top marks"

The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom
3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure "

Check in from 3.30 only but there’s lovely walks from the village to keep you busy.
Check in was good with a friendly welcome.
The room was comfortable and clean.
You cloud hear the owl in the woods at night it was such a peaceful location.
We had a wonderful evening meal, a little more than we might pay at home but it was beautifully cooked and value for money.
Breakfast was equally delicious. I had the superfood breakfast. Sourdough toast....
"Great location for us visiting family - setting is excellent and outside area with water, lots of baskets of flowers is very enticing. Decor in the Inn and the rooms is exceptional. This might be picky but a soap dispenser over the hand basin would be useful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay memorable. "

Although we had a lovely Valentine meal, we were in the public bar, next to the bar which was a bit noisy, table in the restaurant would have been preferred for a bit more privacy. "The Duke of York is a proper British local pub in a building that's a good few hundred years old.
The staff and the locals are friendly and welcoming and the food is great.
Dont get upset that there's no lift to the upper level or at the absence of Aircon.
