"Overall, this was a fantastic experience for my wife and kids. Good food, drinks and very friendly staff. Suggestion: many hallways and elevators need a fresh coat of white paint. Looked dirty, when the walls were probably cleanish. "

"Our family of three stayed in one of the private rooms. We felt comfortable and relaxed there. There were plenty of bathrooms to choose from. Very nice hostel. "

"The hotel is well located with interestingly unique facilities, culture and history. The staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. I particularly love the morning coffee and free stand-up boards which I was able to enjoy in calm waters across the street. Will definitely stay again. "
"Very ‘old school’ facility that’s been around 50+ years… but, is simple, clean and very nice staff!!!
Close by to downtown Hilo and is in a residential area.
The fresh coffee, papaya & banana bread in the morning was very ono!!!
We’ll definitely stay here again with our ohana on our next weekend trip to Hilo."
"Kikala Waterfall Lodge is a unique experience. Nature is your lullaby. We fell asleep to the sound of flowing water, croaking frogs, and the birds chirping. The rain shower added to the experience. The cabin was clean. The lodge had all you would need -kitchen, bathroom with shower, a living space with couch and chairs.
We enjoyed the easy hike to the waterfall and opted not to swim due to cloud cover.
The grounds have all you except to see in a Hawaiian rainforest.
It is not your traditional hotel experience, but a step into Hawaiian life."
