"Extremely spacious and well equipped with one exception, given the unusually warm weather—no AC, some fans, and no screens on windows that do open. The garden has a knockout location right on the river and some rooms also have this gorgeous view, including the huge bathroom with freestanding tub. There are however a lot of stairs. "Stayed for 3 nights, hotel is old but clean. Breakfast was nice, bar was nice. Car park got busy on the Friday, only space left was under a tree. Next morning the front left hand side and windscreen of my car was caked in bird mess, horrible thick black filth. I got a bucket of water from reception and was able to scrape the thick mess off my windscreen but had to wait until I got home to clean off the rest of the mess - went to a local handwash and had to pay a bit extra for the clean. "We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

"Hotel in a lovely, quiet, rural location. Deceptive from the outside as it doesn’t carry the OYO branding, nor does it look refurbished. But, inside it is newly decorated and comfortable. Rooms can with a coffee machine, costs pods and biscuits. Breakfast looked ok, be we didn’t partake. We stayed in room 9. The only downside was the drains smell coming from the shower. "

"Our stay was fabulous. The food is 12/10 We had our dog with us so we had to eat in the bar but it has a roaring fire and a lovely atmosphere and I’d argue this was the best seat in the house. Our room was in a little outbuilding and it was just perfect. Super quiet of a night too. The servers are all very young and the best and most smiley service I’ve had in a long time "

"We stayed for one night while visiting family. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and well equipped. We appreciated having a mini nespresso machine for our morning coffee. It was a very warm evening but a fan in the room helped to cool it down. The bathroom floor had a slight slope, which could be interesting if you've had a heavy night out. We would happily stay again."

"Booked this fairly last minute for a bit of peace and quiet and good views and it did not disappoint! Place was spotless with everything you could need. "This is the most quaint place I’ve ever stayed. After talking to the owner, this used to be an old courthouse. many years ago. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for old world charm, and to find a piece of history in the Wrexham area. The people the service and the food are top-notch. Highly recommend."

"lovely period building / very Emily Brontë :-) Owners were very helpful and the rooms pleasant. Parking is a little convoluted as you have to go to the house collect the parking voucher and return to the car and do the same on departure but the car park is only a few minutes walk away. "

"We loved our overnight stay here. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good shower. You have to carry your suitcase upstairs, we didn’t mind but just giving others the heads up. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a good location, just walking distance to the town centre. We can recommend "
