"This is a beautiful place to stay. The view is spectacular. Rooms were clean and the staff was amazing. The only issue was that we expected a tv, but didn't have one. But found out that we didn't need it after all.
That was the only reason I gave it 4 stars."
"Cute hotel with a great view. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. It was a quiet place until the ferry across the road started running in the morning. I highly recommend this place and would definitely come back and stay here. "
"I was allocated Room 10 and found there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and I couldn’t open the window. It was too high and tightly closed and locked. I needed assistance to open it. Plus the “heated towel rail” had no way to turn it on. There was conflicting advice from reception staff about it so I realised it didnt work. Everything else about this hotel was lovely. Quiet location, superb food in the restaurant ( best Sunday roast dinner I’ve ever had! ), amazing breakfasts and an actual coffee machine that makes Flat whites and lattes! Don’t bother going down to town, just eat here. The staff were lovely as well. I would recommend and stay here again, just not in Room 10. Remember to bring your own face washer to Scotland!"
"Food was amazing. Staff was exemplary.
The grounds, location and view out the window was unparalleled.
But… Horrible climb to third floor with rickety stairs and zero elevator… very difficult with luggage and a baby. Spiders in room.
Bathroom FLOOR was covered in what seemed like wallpaper… was wet the entire time and unsanitary. Bathroom tub plug was broken and wouldn’t drain. Housekeeping did not come to our room and we ran out of toilet paper twice in two days in the family room.
Staff are overworked trying to manage both pub and formal restaurants every night. Meant long wait times to be seated and served.
But the staff absolutely did their best and were fantastic.
Could be a wonderful place, really needs some updates.
Fish was delicious, but one was undercooked. Mom and baby in our party got sick from it."
"Cosy bedroom, gorgeous view overlooking Sound of Mull. Spacious and spotless bathroom.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Very quiet stunning location.

"Room was small (only about 18” on each side of the bed) which made luggage and clothes difficult to manage. Bathroom was nice with heated floors. Room was dark, which didn't make it feel clean. Breakfast was good. Overall it was really expensive (~250 pounds) for one night, which seemed very overpriced for what we received. Not sure I would stay here again."
"The hotel has a great vibe and the staff are lovely. The views are incredible. The restaurant wad busy but the staff were great. Portions were generous and the food was good.
Our only real complaint was our room #31. I understand old hotels don’t have lifts, so it’s a long way up to the top floor with luggage. Our room had water damage around the windows. One of the windows was taped shut. New drywall wasn’t even patched. Stains on the wallpaper around the walls by the windows. A painting for the wall was in closet and wall plugs left dangling on the wall where it hung. When the wind picked up the window and possible exterior sheathing kept rattling. As we left we saw other rooms open that were being cleaned. They were in much better shape.
That room should have been repaired before being used."
