"When we first checked into the room. The room was filled with ants and the hotel staff used the ants spray to kill the ants. We did want to stay in the room and hope by the time we come back all the chemicals spray smells will be gone. We can back around 10 pm and found the floor was flooded from leaking refrigerator. "Front desk guy had a bit attitude but we did check in at 1am so I get him😅 the toilet water smelled so bad we couldn’t use it because the smell. The bed was really comfortable and clean sheets. Overall a decent hotel to stop for the night"

"Firstly I want to say the people running the place were super kind and helpful. Great price for what you get but the one downside is getting in and out of the establishment, since it is located on the 1. And my only complaint is the windows, they did not lock, so you could slide it open from the outside and how thin they were, you could hear everything and everyone right outside it was as if the window was open to just the screen."

"Very friendly staff. We have stayed here a few times and the rooms were very clean. This time, our floor was missing tiles, hair and stains in the bathroom, and my daughter had a few bites on her. We checked the sheets but couldn't find any bed bugs."

"The hotel is next to a very busy intersection and was very loud especially at very early hours of morning. The a/c is located right in front of beds which is inconvenient, since you will freeze too quickly but if you turn it off it gets too stuffy. The room we got had a strange smell that wouldn’t go away even with door and window open. I did advise the front desk person and he provided me with some air freshener. Beds seem comfy"

"The Surfside is an unpretentious and basic motel, but it does this very well. The motel, while dated, appears to be well maintained, the host greeted us with a warm welcome, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. It is four blocks from the beach and it has a great breakfast place "Wildflower Cafe" a short walk away. I highly recommend it."
