"We had a lovely evening at this historic Bed & Breakfast -- quiet, private and peaceful. Definitely find time to eat at the Waterwheel Restaurant next door."
"Loved this place! It’s a perfect option if you don’t want to pay the high price at the Homestead. You can walk to the homestead and still enjoy the restaurants and most of the features of the homestead. The staff was so sweet and we loved the hot homemade breakfast!"
"The motel is in good shape for an older "no frills" property. The beds were pretty comfortable, and the room was relatively clean. The area is nice with great sight-seeing and restaurant options. The man working at the front desk could use some Customer Service Skills Training. My payment card was charged for the nightly rate prior to my arrival. Once there, he said that he had to process the payment again, even after I showed him that it was already processed. He said that it was my choice if I wanted to stay there or not, but if I wanted to stay, he had to run the payment again. This resulted in a double charge. He found this amusing and laughed about the situation. He then told me to take it up with the credit card company. I contacted the owner a couple days later and she issued a refund promptly. I would suggest training the Front Desk staff in customer relations or replace him."
"The property is nothing like the pictures they show. It is a very old property and is falling apart. It was an ok stay, staff was ok and no breakfest items. Find some place else to stay. "
"This property rates at the TOP of the list. Its as elegant as the Greenbriar and Homestead in terms of the property and rooms. It is stunning. Martha is a wonderful host and
she is so elegant in her special touches....antiques, crystal, place settings, even in the room crystal glasses with little doilies on top with crystals weighted down. Magnificent Crystal Chandeliers. Historic touches everywhere. You will want to come back! "
