"As this stay was purchased via Tesco Clubcard Rewards I was expecting the usual quality lottery, however I was pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and well located. It’s right on top of the castle which unfortunately for us was shut, so we passed our time in the local pubs and restaurants, of which there are plenty. I would definitely stay here again, but as others have suggested, have a plan about where to park"

"Lovely hotel, room was big and spacious it had a very comfy bed, bathroom had a bath and shower. Great well equipped gym, huge pool, sauna and steamer all included in room rate for you to use at no extra price. Staff were all so polite and friendly. "Carol and Ceri looked after us very well, beginning with their greeting us at the front door on our arrival. The bed was comfortable and all room facilities excellent (lovely soft towels), except that the bedside lights are not bright enough for old eyes to read by. "We booked here because it’s close to Preston Park where we were going for a 2 day Thai festival. It’s reasonable priced too. It’s under new management and being renovated. "Nice location and good sized room. Room gets very warm even with the fan provided, as it gets direct sunlight in the morning. Be aware there is no reception of any kind, so you need to make sure you have been sent the building/room code and instructions to get in when you arrive. I hadn’t been emailed mine, and had to call the property phone number to get it, but the help over the phone was very nice and I got what I needed. Otherwise great room for the price. "
